Troy “Sol” Edler
Troy “Sol!” Edler, a native of Washington, D.C., grew up singing in church with his mother and listening to his father’s old soul records, all while developing a love for comic book media. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Communication Art from North Carolina Central University, Sol returned to the nation’s capital to teach Fine Arts in both public and charter schools. He then made the leap to become a solo recording artist.
Since his debut, he has released his first CD, “Song of Solomon, Book I,” followed by a sophomore album titled “Upfront.” Throughout his career, Sol has shared the stage with many notable artists, including Mint Condition, Eric Roberson, and Lalah Hathaway, among others.
Sol Edler views his artistic gifts as sacred and aims to use them to enrich the world around him and inspire others, just as great artists have inspired him. In addition to his music, Sol dedicates much of his time to developing his own comic book media imprint, Trouble Comics.
