Akua M. Gyau

Akua is a results-oriented professional who holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration from Kent State University and a master’s degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Health Care Quality from George Washington University. She has nearly two decades of experience as a policy analyst and project manager within the federal government. 

As a native of Silver Spring, Maryland, Akua has actively participated in various community engagement programs and activities throughout the D.C. Metropolitan area. She has mentored high school students to help them achieve their post-secondary academic goals. Additionally, as a former member of the Distant Relatives Project, she provided support to underserved domestic and global communities by creating opportunities and facilitating access to resources through community outreach and engagement. An avid world traveler, Akua’s favorite place to visit is Ghana, her country of origin.
